The 2014 Hyundai Accent is available in three trim levels: the GS hatchback, GLS sedan and the luxurious SE hatchback. All trims have a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine that makes 138 horsepower. The engine is mated to a standard 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. MacPherson struts are used in front and a torsion beam suspension is used in the rear.
The GLS 4-door sedan comes relatively well equipped with a 6-way manually adjustable seat, one-touch triple-flash turn signals, sliding sun visors, a driver's side blind spot mirror, center armrest with cup holders, seatback pockets, illuminated vanity mirrors, a sunglass holder, air conditioning, a trip computer and a 6-speaker CD and MP3 player. When equipped with the Premium Package, the GLS also includes projector headlights with LED accents, a driver's side auto-up window and tilt/telescopic steering wheel.
Standard equipment on the GS is similar to that of the GLS despite the differences in bodystyle. The GS does include a rear windshield wiper while the GLS does not.
The sporty SE adds 16-inch alloy wheels with performance tires, rear disc brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, fog lights and projector headlights with LED accents. Power windows with driver's side auto-up, power locks and power mirrors are standard on the SE and optional on the GS and GLS. The SE also gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. The steering wheel comes complete with controls for the stereo and cruise control and features tilt/telescoping. Buyers wanting a sunroof will need to order the SE trim in order to select the $900 option.
All 2014 trims come standard with 4-wheel anti-lock brakes. Advanced front airbags, side impact airbags, side head and rear head airbags, tire pressure monitoring and seatbelt pretensioners are also standard.
For 2014, the Hyundai Accent gets some new standard features, including one-touch triple-flash turn signals, sliding sun visors and a driver's side blind spot mirror, while the standard audio system has been upgraded. SE hatchbacks and Premium Package sedans feature new projector headlights with LED accents, a driver's side auto-up window and tilt/telescopic steering wheel.
